Skipping needs to be re-introduced as an adult activity. I would really like to do it (it's much more fun than jogging). The only reason I don't is because society frowns on it and I'd probably be arrested on suspicion of being on something. Can't some physical fitness celebrity start plugging it as the next new trend so we adults can do it in public for "wellness" purposes?

Easier and more common than this I'm wondering if the first 50 seconds of the clip were one take. If it was it was awesome!

I'm wondering if the first 50 seconds of the clip were one take. If it was it was awesome! From IMDb : For the reprise of "Take Me to Broadway," in Small Town Girl Bobby Van performs an extended dance sequence in which he jumps continuously for nearly five minutes. At first glance, it appears that he accomplishes the entire routine in one take. However, the dance was so tiring that it was cut into five segments so that he could rest. The cuts are covered by changes in camera angles and placement.

Wrong as in an immoral thing to do that should be considered bad for the good of society? No. I'd be more likely to use the word odd or silly. I couldn’t find a good gif of an adult skipping. In most cases they’re holding hands or deliberately looking silly but as a form of exercise it doesn’t look much more silly than... That looks like me running to the bathroom.

hermionegranger Cary Grant's last film During the housing shortage of the Summer Olympic Games in 1964, two men and a woman share a small apartment in Tokyo, and the older man soon starts playing Cupid to the younger pair. Although this movie makes a running gag out of Steve Davis' (Jim Hutton's) reluctance to say which Olympic sport in which he is entered, the joke was spoiled by the original advertising, which showed him and Sir William Rutland (Cary Grant) participating in that event.

Once as a teen my cousins and I linked arms and skipped through the mall singing “We’re Off to See the Wizard.”
People forgave us because we were young and foolish.

It's done by footballers as well, often with a straight leg once they master the bent leg. enigma72 is correct. It's an advanced version of why/how babies crawl. It's actually called "cross-crawling" and coordinates arm and leg movement and it triggers the brain to simultaneously learn faster. The synaptic responses fire up quickly. We even do this as adults in exercise classes when we're on all fours and raise the opposite arms and legs. Same principle. Pretty cool how our brain and body develop and work together.

Whatever keeps you active. It’s pretty hard to skip and still be in a bad mood I’ll tell you that much.
