Preventing the Fourth Crusade (or redirecting it) so the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire would have potentially still been healthy enough two centuries later to fend off the Ottoman advances and the capture of Constantinople. Of course, a still fairly strong Byzantine Empire existing until the 19th century or even 20th century would have changed many things including the Crimean War and even perhaps WW1. It also may have stifled the Renaissance since a great deal of influence in the Italian states during the period was due to refugees going to Italy with a lot of "lost" ancient texts.

I wouldn't as most of the changes would pretty much lead to me not existing.
It's the Grandfather Paradox. If I prevented WW2, my grandparents wouldn't have met and I wouldn't have been born to prevent it.

Let's say you could travel back in time and change the outcome of one single historical event, which one would you choose?
For me it would probably be preventing the outbreak of World War I, considering that it became the trigger to all further catastrophes that would follow in the last century.
How would you prevent it though? It was brewing for quite a while before it finally erupted.
