Rams with a terrific opening drive for a TD, a couple of Goff to Woods passes went for big gains and then Brown punches it in for a TD.

This is a very good game - Cowboys up 14-13 at halftime. Both offenses are moving the ball very well, I think whichever team can rush the ball better in the second half wins, as it’s been mostly passing so far.

I didn’t agree at all with that decision by McCarthy to go for it there. Why do that when you could tie the game? Both offenses are moving the ball well so who knows how many more opportunities they will get.

Rams up 20-17 at the end of the 3rd, very good game, both teams are playing well. I have to say, this week one can be used by those who don't want to have preseason games in the future. I thought the quality of play was pretty good for week one through out the league.

No idea what we were trying to do on that last drive. Had two minutes to go 85 yards and wasted most of it on short passes, runs and lots of standing around.

Rams get the win 20-17. Really iffy PI call on Gallup that cost the Cowboys, but McCarthy electing to go for it on 4th down instead of taking the FG cost them as well. Good game, both teams played well.
My recap and analysis of today’s games will be up soon!!

Good game, both teams played well. My recap and analysis of today’s games will be up soon!! Couldn't get that upset about the PI. The real problem was that, apart from the very last play which fell apart, was the only long pass attempted in the last two minutes. No urgency whatsoever.

Here is my recap and analysis of Week 1’s games
Rams defeat Cowboys 20-17. Very good game as both teams played well, the Rams looked improved and Goff played well and their defense got some big stops and the Rams open their new stadium with a win, I think the Rams are definite playoff contenders and I liked what I saw from them. Cowboys looked pretty good but McCarthy’s decision not to kick the FG in the 4th down 3 turned out to cost them and their final drive wasn’t impressive although an iffy PI call went against them. I think both of these teams are very good teams.
Saints defeat Buccaneers 34-23. Neither offense was great but the Saints defense made a lot of plays and the Bucs had several miscues that were costly and that was the difference in the game. Brees didn’t throw for a lot of yards and only heated up towards the end but the Saints looked solid while the Bucs looked sloppy and not well prepared, not a good start for Brady as a Buc. I’m very interested to watch both teams going forward as there is a lot of hype surrounding both.
Packers defeat Vikings 43-34. Packers with a very strong outing especially on offense as Rodgers played outstanding and they demolished the Vikings defense, nice win for the Packers. The Vikings didn’t look sharp and the game wasn’t as close as the final score indicated IMO, and this was a concerning loss for the Vikings, a lot of people, myself included, thought the Vikings would win the division and the Packers would regress some, and I know it’s just Week 1, but that certainly wasn’t the case today, the Packers looked great while the Vikings didn’t. Should be interesting to watch both teams going forward.
Cardinals defeat 49ers 24-20. Huge win for the Cards who will be much improved this season, Hopkins with 14 receptions and he is a huge addition to the Cards, and this was a huge road win against the defending NFC champions, I like what the Cards have and I think they will contend for the playoffs. The Niners will be interesting to watch, frequently the team that loses the Super Bowl struggles the next season, and it will be interesting to see whether the Niners escape that curse or not, injuries at receiver hurt them today but I’m interested to see them going forward.
Seahawks defeat Falcons 38-25. Seahawks offense looked terrific as Wilson carved up the Falcons defense with ease and had a terrific game and the Seahawks defense came up with enough plays for the Seahawks to win comfortably, they are a very strong team. The Falcons are interesting as Ryan threw for 450 and they had 3 receivers with over 100 yards, but they didn’t convert on any of their 4 4th down attempts which killed them and their defense looked like garbage, particularly the secondary. The Falcons have talent but I’m not sure how good they will be.
Ravens defeat Browns 38-6. Ravens with a dominant win demolishing the Browns all around, Jackson looked great and the Ravens look like a dangerous, explosive team once again, one of the NFL’s best teams. The Browns looked horrid and were totally unprepared, and it will be interesting to see if they improve any with a new coach this year, expectations are high for them to play much better than they’ve done in the past but this was an awful start to the season for them.
Bills defeat Jets 27-17. Bills with a dominant win to start their season, their defense is one of the NFL’s best and Allen played very well, if he can take the next step like he did today the Bills will be a very strong team, they are definite contenders in the AFC. The Jets looked lousy and I don’t have high expectations for them, they have a lot of holes and I don’t think Gase is a good coach, I will be surprised if they have a decent season.
Patriots defeat Dolphins 21-11. Cam with a solid first game as a Pat and the Pats defense played well and the Pats controlled the game from the start. I think the Pats have the potential to be a decent team if Cam plays well and this was a solid start. I don’t expect much from the Fins until Tua is ready to play, I’m not sure when that will be but until then the Fins will remain a subpar team IMO.
Washington defeats Eagles 27-17. I was very surprised by this result as Washington has very little talent especially on offense but they find a way to beat their division rivals, maybe they are better than I thought, I don’t know, but this was an upset. The Eagles had a lot of injuries but choked away a lead and this doesn’t bode well for them going forward, they have some holes and they are wildly unpredictable from week to week.
Chargers defeat Bengals 16-13. Heartbreaking loss for the Bengals as a game winning TD pass gets called back on a questionable PI and then Bullock chokes on a chip shot FG. Burrow didn’t put up great numbers in his debut but I think he will be a strong franchise QB for them and he led them on a great drive at the end that could’ve been a game winner. As for the Chargers, I don’t expect much out of them especially with Taylor basically being a placeholder until Herbert is ready but they do have talent and were in the playoffs 2 years ago so they are better than people think IMO.
Jaguars defeat Colts 27-20. Big upset here, no one expected the Jags to do anything but Minshew played very well and their defense came up with some big plays and they got the win, who knows, they may be better than people think, I like Minshew pretty good. Colts have a lot of talent but it really hurts them losing Mack with an ACL and I’m curious to see how they do going forward.
Raiders defeat Panthers 34-30. Exciting game, Raiders with a good win, they have a good offense and a solid team and will definitely contend for the playoffs IMO. Panthers played well on offense and I think they will be competitive but their defense is subpar and they look like the weakest of the NFC South teams.
Bears defeat Lions 27-23. Bad loss for the Lions as they blew a 17 point lead and then Swift dropped the game winning TD pass. I have to give credit to Trubisky and the Bears for coming back and getting the win. I don’t have much confidence in either of these teams but it’s just Week 1, who knows how the season will play out.
Any thoughts?

The only thing is, I wasn’t terribly impressed with Burrow. I know you can’t expect a rookie to come out slinging in his first game, but he didn’t have much of a pocket presence and his ball placement was off for most of the game. A lot of that probably has to do with nerves, so hopefully he gets it going in Week 2. He’s on my fantasy team after all lol.

Feels like last year when they came out the gate playing sloppy and committing penalty after penalty and turning the ball over frequently which served as a wake up call for those who were expecting them to be Super Bowl contenders. But at least with this, there’s the excuse of no preseason games, lack of consistency, and the fact that they just had the misfortune of starting their season against the Ravens. I find it hard to believe they won’t be able to fix things as the season progresses... despite the fact that the way they played today makes me think this will be the same old Browns. 😕

Brady must miss having a disciplined, well-drilled, well-coached defense huh? Yes, considering he hasn't had one in over a decade. Still boggles the mind that you’ll be watching Cam do typical Cam things all season. Patriots fans must have no idea what is going on.

He's going to have to be great. Our receivers outside of Edelman still suck, and Hightower opting out was a real blow to the defense. Cam's going to be a one year rental, I hope it's of the Kawhi Leonard variety.

So apparently Brady looks washed in the new offense and Cam looks good in NE. Id say week 1 is in favor of Belichick.

So apparently Brady looks washed in the new offense and Cam looks good in NE. Id say week 1 is in favor of Belichick. Newton threw for 155 yds and 0 TDs. They patched together a few drives and told Newton to make it up as he went along in short yardage situations. That genius Belichick, at it again. There were games in New England where Brady threw more than 2 picks, but I guess he's washed up. There's nothing funnier than week 1 overreactions, particularly in a year without a pre-season. I expect Newton and Brady to both play better as the season goes along, and the next time Belichick accomplishes anything as a head coach without Brady will be the first.

Plus, did you see the Pats allow that one TD? Absolutely unacceptable. And it would have been even more if only their players didn’t just happen to make plays. On top of that, only 3 picks? Worst defense ever.
