Just got back from the film, and my non-spoiler review is that it's awesome! In some ways it's superior to the original, and in some ways, it's inferior. It's not quite as much fun, but it lingers on the heavier moments more than the first one did. Remember how the original would have a moment of seriousness and then would go immediately back to silliness? This ones ponders of the serious moments longer and there are more of them, but there is still a TON of funny. Kurt Russell is excellent as Ego. The entire cast is on-point and the new characters are great, too. This film also cranks up the weird like no one else's business and then REVELS in the innate strangeness and quickiness of the premise without shame or apology. 8/10.

How is Stallone's role/performance in it?

Saw it last night as well, and I agree with @weirdraptor on his observations, but I liked it a bit more and would give it a 9/10. As far as Stallone goes misstique, his role is little more than a cameo and he's fine in it...but be advised to stick around for all the post-credit scenes. (As a Marvel fan, I know you don't need that advice, but I'll give it anyway .

Even better than the first. It's even better in 3D.

How is Stallone's role/performance in it? He's fine, but don't expect anything major.

How is Stallone's role/performance in it? He's good, as he always is when he's given a good script to work with, but he's not really in much of the film.

I prefer the first movie myself, a bit less cartoonish, definitely near the end of the movie. But I definitely laughed harder with this movie. And the post-credit scenes are hilarious.

Oh, I loved the credits scenes, too! And there were so many of them! 7.5/10. They lost half a point because I really wanted the debut of the Celestials to be as 1000-foot-tall, armored colossi. Other than that, I thought it was another high-quality Marvel outing.

it's terrific. not quite on par with the first but that's not much of a criticism as far as i am concerned. i score the original 9/10 and the followup 8/10. the weakest part for me was Yondu's arc. it didn't quite feel earned.

I saw it earlier as well and I LOVED IT!!! I liked how it balanced lightheartedness and slightly dark stuff. I think it is better than the first one. The characters and humor were very well done and I am so glad that this movie exists.

Its better than the 1st. Kurt Russell is great as Ego, really cool to see them explore new hierarchy in the MCU with him being a Celestial (even though inaccurate). Many critics claiming the plot is non-existent, which I disagree with. Its much better than the 1st, which is the repetitive clichéd chase the Macguffin around to drive the plot routine. Volume 2 showed greater thematic value with Peters conflict of finally finding his father, but not wanting to leave his family. The subplots with Yandu and Nebula were also pretty interesting. Disappointed that there was no Thanos however.

A sequel that outdoes the original, how do you like that? this one gives more development even to Ego and Russell was fantastic in it.

Saw it twice, will see it at least a third. I was surprised by how much i liked Ego as a villain, but that's probably do to me being a Kurt Russell fanboy. I liked Yondu's arc, even if the ending was...predictable, Loved Mantis and can't wait to see more of her! Drax fucking stole the show! Big props for Dave Bautista performance! I also liked the Gamora and Nebula arc and i like that we got some more character development for Nebula, especially the background stuff with Thanos! And of course the loveable jackass Rocket and the Adorable Baby Groot! Definitely thought it was better than Guardians vol 1 and is now tied with The Avengers as my favorite Marvel Studious film! I laughed and teared up. 10/10! Can't wait to see what James Gunn has in store for us in vol 3!

Got back from the show a half an hour ago and it was great! It's just as good as the first if not better it gets a 10/10 from me! So many great moments in the film, I think I'm going to have to see it again before it leaves theaters. Another job well done marvel!

Yes, it is awesome. Even the opening credits sequence is incredible! One of my favorite things was the fact that the trailers did not give away any of the story. I had no idea where the story was going.
