Yes, it is awesome. Even the opening credits sequence is incredible! One of my favorite things was the fact that the trailers did not give away any of the story. I had no idea where the story was going. I only knew that Peter met his father, Yondu, becomes a guardian, and nebula returns. I didnt know who the actual villain was from the trailer I thought it was the gold lady Ayesha. The movie blew me away.

Just got back from the film, and my non-spoiler review is that it's awesome! In some ways it's superior to the original, and in some ways, it's inferior. It's not quite as much fun, but it lingers on the heavier moments more than the first one did. Remember how the original would have a moment of seriousness and then would go immediately back to silliness? This ones ponders of the serious moments longer and there are more of them, but there is still a TON of funny. Kurt Russell is excellent as Ego. The entire cast is on-point and the new characters are great, too. This film also cranks up the weird like no one else's business and then REVELS in the innate strangeness and quickiness of the premise without shame or apology. 8/10. What score would you give the original? Also 8/10?

A sequel that outdoes the original, how do you like that? this one gives more development even to Ego and Russell was fantastic in it. Not the first time Marvel's pulled it off. The Winter Soldier, anyone?

The first was a ton of fun and just a great full-good movie with just the right amount of characterization to balance out the goofiness.

Not a bad review, either, given that it's spoiler-free. Can't go into much more depth without detailing plot, etc.

I will say this, if you've missed seeing Kurt Russell in movies in general, he's one of the leading characters in this. The hype train didn't just play up a supporting actor.

Marvel barely scratches the surface with being serious in GOTG and you throw a hissy fit.
So if it was completely aimed at the children/idiocracy crowd, you would've gave it a 10???
Apocalypse Now probably garnered a 1 vote from you??? What am I talking about...you would never watch that even if your mom let you.

Your definition of hissy fit must be different from literally everyone else's.

Your definition of hissy fit must be different from literally everyone else's. Just for you to bring up the whole GOTG not being 100% silly while the flick itself was at 99.9% silly, is a hissy fit.

Oh, and to all DCEU fans: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 dealt with the theme of fatherhood infinitely better than Man of Steel did! Come at me, bro!
Oh, and Michael Rooker deserves a Best Supporting Actor nomination for this film.

That makes no sense...but that response doesn't surprise me. My doctorate is on the correlation between test scores going down and movies that cater to imbeciles going up. They are doing great at the box office...hummmmmm???

Excuse me, if any of the faculty at the grade school The Purge attends are reading this over his shoulder, this kid needs to pay more attention during Grammar and his reading comprehension needs work, too. I would also suggest a class to improve his critical thinking.
