A person who uses this term is saying they can identify a gay person based on their stereotypes of how a gay person is supposed to behave. "Supposed" to behave. Lets not step out of character.
First, I ain't supposed to behave any particular way. Second, why don't you reel in your little antennas and mind your own business?

I use the term myself, but I get your point if you are referring to straight dudes doing it. It is really about wanting to suss out the dude and as much, or as little, a gay guy may not want to admit it, there can be and are certain attributes that a gay guy can posses over a breeder douchebag.

The Nazis had a whole list of attributes they used to identify Jews.

They would have also had a list of attributes to identify homos, who were persecuted along with the Jews.

This is my point about straight people and "gaydar". A limpwristed guy with a lisp is gay!!! Dude, that's "gaydar". It's nothing but old fashioned homophobia dressed up to look hip.

I remember when "gay" was used as a general-purpose insult. I messed around with a guy with a modest YouTube following back in the day and he got called "gay" all the time even though only one man has hit on him vs. a lot of women.

It's still used as a general purpose insult. "That's so gay" to refer to something as silly or inferior is definitely a slur.
What if I was to say "that's so black" to refer to something ignorant? Or what if I said "that's so Asian" to refer to something dirty and disease-ridden?
My point here is that gay people are the last minority left whom people can still insult and demean in public and not be called out on their bigotry when they do it.

Breeders are largely responsible for the prejudices and bigotry in society. They create society with their promotion of procreation and then set rules and boundaries for what is right and wrong for how their kids are supposed to act and be.

What do you think about straight people using their gaydar incorrectly? I’ve had people suspect me of being gay before, at which point I have to tell them I’m straight while still clarifying that I have nothing against gays.

I’d say any straighty who has a fine honed gaydar, is not much of a straighty. Anyone can detect feminine attributes in a gay guy.

I'm guessing you have a point?

Why would you have the need to suddenly defend yourself that you have nothing against gays, to prove that you are a tolerant straight?
