maybe that's why i prefer music to movies. or am better than average at learning spoken languages and fine tuning my pronunciation. or am able to memorize so many produce codes and key them in from muscle memory faster than other cashiers. i find that being a grocery cashier has been a lot less enjoyable with plexiglass, masks, and social distancing because it's harder to hear people and i depended on my hearing more than i thought i did. and i find that a lot of people i've been attracted to have distinctive voices, such as my man's foreign accent, as the latest example.

I think that's pretty much an accepted fact. Sensory impairment of one kind will lead to the other senses becoming more acute.
