9/10, got #7 wrong. I love NG; it gets a bum rap for not being Twilight Zone (and allegedly Rod Serling hated the series and often bad-mouthed it, although he wrote a number of pretty memorable episodes); but at its best it's very scary in its own right and deserves a better reputation than it's been given. But I'd suggest trying to catch it on DVD in the original uncut and untampered-with format--many of the episodes were badly cut, edited and padded with unnecessary footage in the syndicated package that generally airs now.

I also got # 7. wrong and didn't really recognize the actor .
I totally agree with you here that NG does deserve better than what it has received
thankfully it is considered a really memorable cult classic with ardent fans like us here too
( BTW a very accurate and well put reply of yours here too ) .
Rod Serling has said in an interview that
Twilight Zone was entirely his TV Show
and that he was only a host for the Night Gallery .
Here is a 7 minute interview where he fully explains all this
I have the entire Night Gallery TV Show on DVD
and IMPO it was worth every penny just like my beloved
Twilight Zone Collection on DVD too .
Thanks so much for your wonderful reply here also .

Mszanadu, thanks for that clip! It's a telling little cameo of what esteem he held the show in (I recall him putting down producer Jack Laird in a print interview, saying that Laird had turned the series into " Mannix in a shroud"), but I honestly don't get the hate, unless it can be explained due to the fact that he had less creative control over NG than TZ. But he still wrote a number of the more memorable installments (They're Tearing Down Tim Reilly's Bar and The Academy, to name just two--there's a trivia quiz: how many NG episodes did Serling write in all? I'm not sure I know the answer to that one myself) and was an indelible force with the show, all in all. --and a big thanks for your very kind reply and that great little jog down memory lane with Cavett and Co.!
