Serious. I'm not a fan of horror comedies.

I tend to favour towards serious, but that entirely depends.

Serious, although moments of comic relief are allowed if done well.

Serious, but I like some horrors that combine it like Abbott and Costello or Corman's the Raven or Kolchak.
"Kolchak. You were supposed to be in Puyallup for the daffodils!"
"Where? Vincenzo what's the matter with you? You ought to see a doctor you know, I'm serious. You sound terrible. It's awful."
"What are you doing to that poor man? I have never seen anyone so close to total stark insanity before."

Tone is way down my list but funny seems easier for directors.

No preference really. It's all about how well put together the movie is for me. I can enjoy serious-minded horrors and horror comedies equally.

I have no preference when it comes to serious vs. funny. It all depends on my mood.

I would say I prefer horror films that were more serious.

Serious . . . but some horror made badly is unintentionally humorous.
