I remember there used to be ads for super 8 films in magazines and I used to get these catalogs from movie studios that listed all the 16mm film prints you could rent for private showings. I heard Joe Dante collects 35mm film prints. Anyone here actually collect movies on film or run them by projector? I have a few films but they are old educational stuff on farms, planes, or medieval history. I got an old school Bell and Howell projector that a company was tossing in the garbage.

I have the Scream 3 trailer on 35mm film. I thought about collecting trailers on film but never bought any others.

I see there is a market for such things--trailers and film ads. In some cases very obscure movies that had limited theatrical runs and even no video release are discovered. One giallo turned up that way.

I have a number of one-reel abridgements of Nosferatu, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy and others which were produced by Castle Films and advertised in Famous Monsters of Filmland in the 1960's. They are packed in a carton in my closet, but I no longer have the projector to screen them. Does anyone know if Castle Films are on the market as collector's items? Not that I want to sell them. Just curious.
