I told him “don’t cry” but in Russian. What’s so sad about cutting onions?

Years ago I worked for a family owned pizza shop, and we had to take whole yellow onions and dice them up to use on the pizzas and other menu items...
No one, that I have ever met, could dice up a couple dozen yellow onions at one time, and not get teary eyed.
Even other employees working in the far corners of the kitchen were getting teary eyed, and that is even with the back door of the kitchen open in order to get good ventilation through the screened door.
Have any of you ever diced up a couple dozen, or more, of yellow onions at one time?

how about little hearts? ![https://i.redd.it/s57kpgi0fvb51.jpg](https://i.redd.it/s57kpgi0fvb51.jpg) Ebony, those little hearts look disgusting. And they look even more disgusting wrapped up as dumplings. Lol. But I'd eat them if they taste good. What animal gave you its hearts? ducks. my mother fed them to me when i was a kid, although not wrapped up as dumplings. they were delicious.
