Any fans of "Dog Day Afternoon" starring Al Pacino and John Cazale? How has it held up after 45 years? Haven't seen this one so I can't comment on it. Maltin Movie Guide Review: Dog Day Afternoon (1975) - 3.5 out of 4 stars
"Incredible-but-true story of a loser who holds up a Brooklyn bank to raise money for his lover's sex change operation, and sees simple heist snowball into a citywide incident. Pacino's performance and Lumet's flavorful N.Y.C. atmosphere obscure the fact that this is much ado about nothing. Frank Pierson won an Oscar for his screenplay (based on an article by P.F. Kluge and Thomas Moore".

One of my favorite Sidney Lumet movies. A powerhouse performance by Al Pacino, and the way his character wins over the crowd and makes the police look like incompetent idiots is mesmerizing.

It's my favourite movie of 1975. Great story and compelling performance from Pacino.
