How do you feel about this? Do you think the information he provided makes it acceptable?

Any chance of a resume of what he says and your opinion on it?
Whys did you post it and what does it mean?
IMHO YouTube videos should be used to illustrate a point and not make it.

See my answer to Erjen. I prefer to use YouTube videos for making the point. We all have our different ways of posting.

It reminds me of someone I once knew who told me of the saint she prayed to....St. Andrew maybe but I'm not sure.....and she said if your prayer was granted he would ask you to do something in return, and you had better do it, or he would be very upset. Have you ever heard of anyone doing anything like this?

The point is obvious but it speaks more to the Catholic v Protestant divide than to any theist/atheist dialog. It gives validity to the idea that Saints intervene between humans and god. This is a concept rejected by Protestants. Exactly, Gameboy.

I'm surprised Goz didn't understand this. It's Christianity 101. Goz is getting old, and old people are sometimes foolish.

Their “veneration” consists of studying their words and deeds to seek wisdom of the Ein Sof: It Who Should Not Be Named: The Unknown Unknown, The Source. Jews don’t venerate tzaddiks or pray to them as these are dead people who are considered Sparks of Creation and not saints are who currently gazing upon the face of the Almighty empowering them to work miracles on Earth. The Hasids look at tzaddiks no differently than a first year physics grad studies Einstein. By the way, according to Christianity, anybody who makes it to Heaven is by definition a saint. They pray at their graves, so that they (the Tzaddiks) can pray alongside them. They offer wine to the Prophet Elijah during Passover. The matriarch Rachel is venerated in a similar way to which Catholic & Orthodox Christians venerate Mary. Also we study the words & deeds of Saints too, so that we may emulate them & perhaps become Saints also. Yes, everyone that is in Heaven is a Saint; but, when the Catholic Church canonizes a person, they are making an official declaration that the person is in Heaven.

Goz is getting old, and old people are sometimes foolish. Dude, that's an attempt to deliver a low blow which is beneath you.
I think that sometimes atheists become so pretentiously didactic, that they cease to be rational atheists and become instead somewhat "butthurt" anti-theists. It would seem to me if you post on a Religion board, theology would be a topic of interest. One of the great divides between Catholicism/Orthodoxy and Protestantism is that the Protestants do not believe a Saint can or should intercede between a believer and god. This was the point of the OP regarding Jewish Tzaddiks. It totally flew over Goz's head. A small correction, if I may. For something to go over my head, I would have to have looked a some random video, which I did not. I merely asked for the OP to explain her point in words, perhaps with a video for explanation, which was the point of my posting in this thread. The content was not at issue.

Okay Goz, I get your point now. If one posts a video some commentary to claim its purpose would be nice. On IMDb I was a stickler for that and did not like posts of a video alone. I've become less of a purist on the spinoffs. However, I would have liked if you had a made a comment about her implicit comparison of Jewish Tzaddisks to Catholic Saints. Had she made some interesting points and comment which piqued my interest, I would be more than happy to have made some comments, as I am genuinely interested in the history and sociology of religion worldwide. I refuse to watch crappy?( who knows? ) Youtube or other videos for no reason.

To be fair to them though, they might be operating from a milieu, somewhat limited, and not know how to interest a general audience or relate the information to our lives. In "journalism" the prime directive is reaching a general public audience.
