Love the movie so much; love the novel, too. If you haven't read it, nutsberryfarm 🏜 - knowing that you're a reader - I highly recommend it. And kijii , you have it right: it is indeed Saroyan's valentine to America. A beautiful novel/film based upon his life growing up in his beloved small hometown of Fresno, California. i will read it! thanks for the rec.
