His first role in 4 years? Really? Huh. Oh no he's directing it too? Great. I'm not been a fan of most of his directorial efforts. Wasn't a fan of either Goodnight and Good Luck or The Ides of March. And Suburbicon straight up sucked. I thought The Monuments Men was just okay, but widely inferior to the book.

He's a good actor , and he's done okay - Gravity , Tomorrowland , Hail Caesar and of course The Monuments Men (and I agree the movie was antiseptic and lacking some tension in direction) But I think George is really a dramatic actor and would suit those tragic narratives . He was great in Tomorrowland , which was a fantasy-science fiction , so this should be even better ! Two other apocalyptic recent movies I enjoyed were IO (2019)-(quiet) and Spectral (2016)(heavy) I'm bookmarking this and thanks for mentioning it !
