All my best! the opioids seem to have started working so only mild pain right now and had a better night finally. but need a better solution than to take strong drugs soon, as I dont want to get addicted to painkillers. hoping to be able to stop taking them in like a week max. cant wait for the dr to tell my the MRI results on Monday.

Poor nora! Just take as little opioids as possible . Not more than the recommended dosage . You'll be fine. I'd be worried too. All my best

Are you going to a neurologist where they and the radiologist can read the report immediately, same day? I've had that done and while it made for a long appointment, it also allowed me to keep from dragging out the anxiety of the unknown. Most facilities, however, do not offer this. The MRI is going to be the all-important diagnostic tool to determine the origins of the sciatica. For now, all you're able to do is treat the discomfort/symptoms. Hang in there, Nora, because whatever the cause, there's going to be a way to address the problem. Please keep us informed! *hugs*

One thing that was odd to me was the MRI tech asking me for where I am in my cycle. Do you know what that corresponds to, I found it a bit odd but I guess what they see in the lumbar area is also somewhat related to where in your cycle you are?

Because sometimes where you are in your cycle can put pressure on your lumbar discs. That changes over time. It's also like, sometimes constipation can also put pressure on your spine, causing back pain and pressure. These are all normal questions and nothing out of the ordinary. Let us know how your tele-health appointment goes when your doctor lets you know the results of your MRI. We're all here for you!

Their sense of smell is incredible. When I was growing up we had a dog that could smell people coming to the front door long before they rang the bell. He would run from the kitchen or from the back yard to the front door, barking, and we would right away know that someone was coming.

Am I the only one who's a bit creeped out that COVID and cancer have a smell? I knew somebody who had a chocolate lab and the dog did, in fact, detect/smell the cancer on her before she got her diagnosis. I think that's fascinating.

According to Dogster - As clean as you are, and as much soap and perfume and deodorant you wear, you are still splendidly stinky to your dog. Every human has a unique scent fingerprint, and that’s pretty much everything a dog needs to tell one person from another.

What prevents the dog from catching The virus? Dogs can catch it as well as humans.
