This is actually really interesting, I have the "Sandcastle" comic that Shyamalan is loosely basing this on, and it is very good. Very simple but interesting premise, perfect material for a Shyamalan movie.
From that Screenrant link above:
Shitty journalism here, both Signs and The Village were big box office successes and Signs was also a very well received by critics and audiences alike. Signs made over 400 million on 72 million budget and is to this day regarded as his best film by many. The Happening also made profit, despite very mixed review. Not to mention that he even manages to get the order they were made wrong (The Happening was made after "Lady", not between Signs and The Village).

2021 is gonna be a great year for movies, maybe ? It's gonna be jam-packed. So there may be something for everyone at least.

He's a better director than he is a writer, so it's good that his new movie is an adaptation of existing material.
