I don't like the term, but I have teams that I'm fond of, outside of my favorites.
Baseball Oakland Minnesota
Football
Las Vegas Green Bay
CFB USC
CBB Duke
Why am I rambling on about the crapola? Just because the Raiders are playing the Bills this weekend. Do I want to see the Raiders win, no. Will I be happy if the Raiders win, no. My question are
1. Do you have 2nd Favorites? 2. Do you have a 2nd favorite that means enough that you are happy no matter the outcome?

I wouldn't say 2nd favorite or root for - but may admire a team from afar.
For instance - the L.A. Kings were considered 'Flyers West' - because they had Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Justin Williams and Ron Hextall as a part of their team

None. No second favorite teams.
But basketball is different. There are a slew of teams that I like because I enjoy watching them play. Portland, Heat, Jazz, Mavs, Nuggets, Suns, Pelicans, Toronto... There are guys on those teams who are not household names, will never make an All Star team, but are fantastic players. I enjoy effort. Teams playing and punching above their weight class.

In baseball probably the Twins. I’ve liked them since Kirby Puckett and they’ve always seemed less objectionable to root for than the Yankees and Red Sox. Close third would be the Angels just because of Mine Trout.
In football closest to a second favorite would probably be the Seahawks but that predates the Carroll era.
In hockey there was a ton of teams I liked after the Flyers but not so much now. If I had to choose now I’d say the Islanders.
In basketball I barely like the Sixers let alone another team. Hold a gun to my head and I’ll say the Spurs. I like Popovich.

NFL: Giants/Bills (favorite Steelers - - Giants have many similarities to Steelers. Bills are fellow Rust Belt breathren)
MLB: Dodgers (favorite Padres - - grew up as a Dodgers fan but has changed over the 15 years that I've lived in San Diego)
NHL: Flyers (favorite Penguins - - almost 50/50 with those two)
College Football: San Diego State (favorite Penn State - - zero conflict here)
College Basketball: Lots - - Penn State, Rhode Island, Providence, Pittsburgh - - if I've lived there, I've kept you as one of my teams (favorite San Diego State)

NFL - I like the Dolphins a lot, they are my second favorite.
MLB - I have several teams I like - I like the Rays, Royals, Brewers, D-Backs, Rockies.
NBA - Don’t have one
NHL - Don’t watch it
College Football - I like all of the smaller Florida teams (FIU, FAU, USF, UCF), don’t really have a second favorite in the Power 5.
College Basketball - I’ve always liked North Carolina pretty good so they might be my second favorite.

When you grow up in between the cities as I did, you're asked to take sides. Moving out to California has mellowed me out with the Eagles a lot. Phillies I was always good with. There were many years where Flyers were my favorite team over the Penguins (I hated Jagr; the only jersey I have in hockey is Brind'Amour's). Sixers are the only one I can't stand and that's because of the whole Process sham. Root for all of the Philly college teams, especially in basketball.

There's always time to switch allegiances to the Eastern part of the state since you're out in Cali now....
Never to late to jump on board....

I guess the Dodgers are my second favorite in baseball. Don’t really have one for the other sports.

If I did it now, at least nobody would say that I'm bandwagon jumping.

Will usually be a completely inoffensive team with no long history who's reliably in the title or playoff picture each year.
NRL- Melbourne Storm
AFL- GWS Giants
Cricket- Sri Lanka
NBA- Spurs

Second favorite? Hell I can give you a top ten in every major sport, probably a top 25 in college hoops and college football. I just like sports. (I'll say this in small font but as a New England sports fan, I don't even hate NYC teams.)
My second favorite NFL team is Denver, I lived in Colorado for a while. Second favorite NBA team? Seattle, when they get one back and they're called the Sonics again. Second favorite NHL team is Chicago (and no, that didn't make 2013 feel better). Second favorite MLB team...Cubs maybe? Twinkies? Some midwestern team. Second favorite MLS team is DC United.

NRL : Penrith Panthers (Father's team) Cricket : New Zealand - actually i generally support our neighbours across the ditch as a general 2nd favourite behind Australia in almost everything.
US Sports : NFL : Cincinnati (Bengals = Tigers) MLB : Detroit (Tigers again), Giants (sensing a theme ?) NBA : Dont have a first team, so no second team. NHL : Vegas Golden Knights (Wife's team)
Football : Hull FC and Wolves (the theme), Notts County (Grandad's team RIP), Nottingham Forest (ancestral home town) Dynamo Dresden (ancestral home town) Obviously Germany and England, but always behind Australia.

MLB Rays or A's - Small market teams are fun to root for. Plus I bought an awesome Rays hat once that I loved before losing it. Was blue and gold.
NFL Titans - I guess? I had a couple Titans jerseys in high school (Eddie George and Jevon Kearse) because I liked the jerseys. I still like them but not as much as i did then.
CFB Notre Dame - I'm Irish so they have a soft spot in my heart plus I have been to a game there and it was awesome. Was Notre Dame vs UCLA and Brady Quinn hit Jeff Samarjzia for a GW TD at the end. Stadium was rocking.
CBB Kentucky - I honestly don't know why. Was long before Calipari too.
