So, who do you think would make a better next James Bond? Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy?

Cavill. I’d love a return to the more colorful and fun 007 movies, and I think Cavill would be the best choice for that.
My hesitation only comes because he’s so damn huge. I feel like Bond should be more lean, but I think Cavill has the charisma to pull it off (yes, I’m serious).

Henry Cavill, but as he is doing The Witcher i think people can forget about him as James Bond.

Hardy needs to go back to basics from his 2007-2015 run, i miss his output as well.

Cavill by a mile. I find Hardy to be totally blah. BTW, is Hardy British?

I think Hardy is a tad too rough around the edges. He'd make for a great Jack Reacher but lacks Bond's sophistication and suave. Cavill has that sophistication and smoothness as he's shown in Man from UNCLE and Enola but can also bring a physical toughness to the role when necessary like he does with the Witcher and even his Mission Impossible role.
So yeah, definitely Cavill for me. Besides, he almost won that part years ago and only lost to Craig due to how young he was at that time.

To be fair, Cavill is an inch shorter than Sean Connery and though he can get pretty jacked for certain roles, on average he isn't really that much bulkier than Daniel Craig was in Casino Royale.

Hardy doesn't really have a cinematic iconic niche he has fitted into and this may work in favour of playing 007. There were similar concerns when Cavill was first cast as the Witcher but it didn't seem to be an issue. People were similarly worried when Evans was cast as Captain America since he was already known as the Human Torch.

Not wild about either, but Hardy showed more Bondish charisma in Inception than I've ever seen from Cavill. I think he could probably also do something fresher with it.

I don't think Tom Hardy is a great choice but I'd choose him over Cavill for Bond.

Cavill for new James Bond. Tom Hardy is just too average.

Hardy has more of a Dalton look about himself and I can see him as Bond. Cavil perhaps has too much charisma with exceptional generic good looks, that doesn't make him as personable as Hardy to me and more model like. I agree with you about Cavill's looks - they are too generic. Hardy has more of a rough around the edges look to him which I think Bond should have.

On the other hand, I think Hardy looks too rough around the edges. You want someone who can look both rough and suave at the same time so I go with Cavill.
