Cavill probably has something of the edge looks-wise, but frankly I can't get all that hyped over either of them as a choice for Bond.

Tom Hardy will be in his late 40s by the time they get their shit together and revamp the series, so he's out.

I agree with you about Cavill's looks - they are too generic. Hardy has more of a rough around the edges look to him which I think Bond should have. On the other hand, I think Hardy looks too rough around the edges. You want someone who can look both rough and suave at the same time so I go with Cavill. I disagree. I think Hardy can look suave when he's all cleaned up. I just find Cavill devoid of anything that would make me like him- he reminds me of a mannequin.

There has to be a level of attractive and hygienic looking in any Bond actor taking on the role, there has to be standards. Yeah Hardy might cater to your longing for a greasy butt crack showing car mechanic each to their own but much like Ben Affleck as Batman he would've been better as Bond maybe 16 years ago not now and with the tattoos no fucking way.

Hugh Jackman or Michael Fassbender for James Bond.
Or a complete unknown. Timothy Dalton was mainly known as a theater actor before he was cast as Bond.

Neither. The correct answer is Aidan Turner.

What happened to Idris Elba? I think he’s too old at this point. Also, he is black, and James Bond isn't.

So, who do you think would make a better next James Bond? Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy? I votes for Hardy but either is fine but how would there even be a next bond after the disaster of No Time To Die? Complete franchize reboot once again??

Cavill. I’d love a return to the more colorful and fun 007 movies, and I think Cavill would be the best choice for that. My hesitation only comes because he’s so damn huge. I feel like Bond should be more lean, but I think Cavill has the charisma to pull it off (yes, I’m serious). Weight really does contribute to tone of character. I view Cavill as a heavy, the bad bodyguard etc... and have a hard time viewing him as not that. Bond isn’t that but as politicidal noted he rocks the role in MFU so maybe he could pull it out off.

Neither. The correct answer is Aidan Turner. I like the idea of Aidan Turner as Bond. He is 38 now, so he would be about the right age. Also physically he is not too imposing unlike Hardy and has a certain smoothness and elegance about him. I thought he was excellent as Philip Lombard in the TV-miniseries And The There Were None.
I just fear that the producers will go for a more leftfield choice and probably cast someone of more diverse ethnicity.

Hardy is a much better actor although he hasn’t made anything interesting for a while - but he is not Bond.
Cavil looks the part though.
Although I rate the Connery films as the best in truth I think Lazenby best embodied the Bond I imagined from the novels.

Hardy really isn't a better actor he's like Marlon Brando loved for being larger than life but not much else.

So, who do you think would make a better next James Bond? Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy? As a producer, if you wanna go for star power and/or the better actor, its all about Hardy. But he's a controlling A type on set and you might be letting yourself in for problems. If you want someone who still fits the bill, but is more malleable, probably even less expensive, then you want Cavill. Personally, when I think of the two I think Cavill is a bit more Bond. Plus he's still young enough that you can get a bunch of movies out of him before having to dip into "I'm getting too old for this shit" territory.

Henry Cavill, but as he is doing The Witcher i think people can forget about him as James Bond. There's more than enough time between seasons to fit in other projects. Witcher season one came out in 2019, two years ago. Remember, this is Netflix, not network TV.
