You are siting this site as your proof? A site where there are DC fans that would gladly give it a low score just because? 4 people gave it a 1 on the poll he's talking about. Average without them is about 7.8. That's not how averages work. You don' get to just throw out numbers you don't like just to artificially inflate the average. Average counts all the numbers.

Like when pathetic trolls biased against an entire franchise give movies low ratings out of spite in an attempt to artificially deflate the average.

It's not an outlier; stop making excuses for people disliking the film and for its piss-poor average of 5.5/10. That is a solid D+ of a film, and it sounds like you're attacking DC-Fan out of desperation to skip the subject.

Outliers can and should be excluded at times. Nope. If Clayton Kershaw has an ERA of 1.99 and then has a bad start and gives up 6 runs in just 2 innings, MLB doesn't say "Well, that's an outlier so we won't count that when calculating Kershaw's ERA."
The average has to include all the numbers. You can't just cherry-pick which numbers to include and throw out the numbers you don't like.

To give a movie a 1 is to say it's an absolute trainwreck with no redeeming value. Even the critically panned, commercially under-performing Batman v Superman has a 6.7 on IMDB and an embarrassing 28% on Rotten Tomatoes. I mean, have you seen 'The Room'? That's a 3.6 on IMDB and it's horrendous. Here are IMDB's lowest rated moviesRanging from 1.4 to 2.8. Do you really think GotG2, or any Marvel movie, is as bad as or worse than those? No of course not. No rational person would say so. Nope. If Clayton Kershaw has an ERA of 1.99 and then has a bad start and gives up 6 runs in just 2 innings, MLB doesn't say "Well, that's an outlier so we won't count that when calculating Kershaw's ERA." Apples and oranges. You're comparing objective data - stats of what actually happened, to subjective data - ratings representing opinion, where bias plays a role. Like users making multiple accounts to downvote. Thanks for proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that you know nothing about statistics.

No reasonable/objective person would give any MCU movie a 1. You believe the BS that it was just coincidence that the Patriots had an equipment guy on their team who called himself "The Deflator" when Brady got caught using illegally-deflated footballs in a championship game and you believe the BS excuse that Jim "The Deflator" McNally called himself "The Deflator" because he was trying to lose weight. So your not qualified at all to decide what's reasonable or objective. Bias is cherry-picking which numbers to count for the average and throwing out numbers that you don't like. There's no bias in counting all the numbers. Thanks for proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that you know nothing about statistics. You're the one who clearly doesn't know anything about statistics. An average counts all the numbers and doesn't cherry-pick which numbers to include. A variance and standard deviation may also be calculated for the average, but an average doesn't cheery-pick which numbers to count. An average counts all the numbers.

So your not qualified at all to decide what's reasonable or objective. And you ignore that he called himself that in the middle of the off-season, in a conversation that had nothing to do with football. This is an example of confirmation bias. We've had this discussion before, it ends with you fallaciously appealing to the authority of Marlow and Exponent, hired by Wells who was hired by Goodell. Exponent's science is demonstrably fraudulent. The whole debate is a dead-end for you. Bias is cherry-picking which numbers to count for the average and throwing out numbers that you don't like. There's no bias in counting all the numbers. Bias is rating every movie of a franchise a 1 just because it's a different franchise's rival. You're the one who clearly doesn't know anything about statistics. An average counts all the numbers and doesn't cherry-pick which numbers to include. A variance and standard deviation may also be calculated for the average, but an average doesn't cheery-pick which numbers to count. An average counts all the numbers. As I said - and you ignored, there is a time to count outliers and there is a time to exclude outliers.

The general consensus on a big budget MCU release (Guardians 2) planting it at only 5.5/10 among audiences, people talking about how great Star Wars is in lieu of their own fandom... Guys, this is the roughest shape I've seen the state of MCU fandom since the release of Iron Man 1. Is -- is the MCU on life support? Could Wonder Woman be the knockout punch that destroys it and crushes every MCU fan's dreams before we even get to Thanos? How can the MCU be saved, if at all? You're pathetic! This movie is highly rated by thousands of people on IMDB, cinemascore, RT (crtiics and audience), and metacritic, but you point to a poll of 22 people including 4 trolls to support your argument. You claim the MCU fandom is "in shambles" as the whole world celebrates GOTGv2 and the movie enjoys a huge box office take. If you have to lie and exaggerate to support your argument, then you don't have a strong argument to begin with. Do you really think your pitiful post is going to have any effect on the success of this movie or the MCU or on the happiness of the fans? Just enjoy what you like and let others enjoy what they like.
