When Lexi Thompson lost the ANA Inspiration to Ryu So-yeon in 2017, not because of poor playing, but because some asshole fan called in a rules infraction which gave a four-stroke penalty. To her credit, Thompson came back and lost in a playoff.
The rules were changed after this so that fans can no longer call in rules infractions and affect the outcome of a tournament.

Greece winning Euro 2004.
Argentina beating the NBA stars in the 2004 Olympics semi-finals is a close second.

Easy one - Leicester City winning the Premier League in 2016 at odds of 5,000-1.

US basketball was a mess in those days, I don't think that was an upset. Team USA had finished sixth in the 2002 World Basketball championships. USA Basketball mgmt. still hadn't figured out that the world had caught up to us considerably, and you couldn't just throw out a bunch of all-stars regardless of position, whose games didn't compliment each other at all. If you're looking up Olympic results since 1992, it would seem like a huge upset; but put into context of USA basketball in the early 2000s, many of us saw it coming.

Was that with NBA players?

Was that with NBA players? It was. The roster made no sense whatsoever, the players didn't get along and started pointing fingers at each other, it was an embarrassment. Take a look at this roster and see if it wows you at all. The best player on that team was Paul Pierce, but as the world's biggest Pierce fan even I can tell you he was playing hero ball 100% of the time in those days. Just a bad mix of players who didn't gel. Not trying to make excuses, either. The world had made significant advances by 2002 compared to 1992's domination for example, and in the 2004 Olympics, Argentina had a hell of a team that earned the Gold. I'm just saying as a fan of USA Basketball, I wasn't incredibly surprised that yet another poorly constructed roster failed to win a championship in international competition.

Miracle on Ice was before my lifetime.
In my life time I'll go by sport:
AFL: 20:1 outsider Carlton defeating Essendon by 1 point in the 1999 Prelim. NRL: 5th seed Canterbury defeating a 1 loss Manly team in 1995 Grand Final. Cricket: India defeating West Indies in the 1983 World Cup Final. V8s: David Reynolds winning the 2017 Bathurst 1000 as the lead driver. 7 wins in 321 starts and the biggest race of all was one of them.

Probably the Giants besting the Patriots in Super Bowl 42. Cant recall there being other upsets as massive as that in my lifetime.
