The town of Camden in New South Wales (Australia), had its own "Film Documentary Group" from 1950 to at least 1954, which showed short films (mostly of British origin). Admission was free, and it seems to have been held monthly on Monday evenings.
Here is the list of films I could find to be shown during the year 1952. Do any of them sound interesting to you? The descriptions provided are from the newspaper "Camden News". Most of the shorts aren't listed on IMDb.
4 February 1952, the films included:
Come Saturday (1949) ("description of an English Saturday in Summer")
Antarctic Whale Hunt
Cornish Valley ("Story of a small farming community in Cornwall")
Fiddle-de-dee (1947) ("a colour interpretation of a familiar tune") - Actually a cartoon rather than a documentary
7 April 1952, the films included:
Dover Spring ("progress in that town since the war")
Chapter and Verse (1936) ("all the stages in the production of a book, with details of the various processes")
Dartmouth ("training of cadets at the Royal Naval College")
Gray's Elegy ("Stoke Poges, and other scenes associated with the poet's life")
5 May 1952, the films included:
Food for Paris Markets
From Hide to Sole
Great Game ("a film for soccer enthusiasts")
Steam (1945) - Notice that the reviewer on IMDb is reviewing the wrong film!!
2 June 1952, the films included:
Horsemen of the Pampa
Transfer of Power
Ceylon, New Dominion
Morning Paper ("description of the publication of a London daily")
World Garden (1942) ("a colour study of Kew Gardens")
4 August 1952, the films included:
Cathedral City ("dealing with Canterbury Cathedral")
The Flying Doctor (1948) ("Australia's famous outback service")
Children's Charter ("effect of the new Education Act in England")
1 September 1952, the films included:
