The surprising stuff is what make baseball great. Yeah, there are surprises in other sports, but nothing like those that stick with you in baseball. Those who watch the Mets games never forget the Bartolo Colon HR, or the Syndergaard 2 HR game, or Steve Matz's pitching debut with his performance with the bat. The Steve Carlton's 3 run HR against the Dodgers in the NLCS back in the 70s still sticks in my mind. I was at Shea for both of these: I don't know what kind of tainted LSD this announcer is on, but King Felix going big fly off Johan with the bases juiced is now a relic of the past. Also was fortunate to see the final pitch ever for Lima Time: Willis' shot was legit. Two of my favorite modern pitchers both hitting grand salamis at Shea? Sorry buddy, but that was AWESOME! As Bill Clinton once said, "I feel your pain"......

This was a long time ago, Willie Randolph managed the Mets & Joe Girardi managed the Marlins.

Remember when people thought Dansby Swanson was a bust?

Remember when people thought Dansby Swanson was a bust? Nowadays, when I look at Braves highlight, he always seems to be in the middle of a big rally.

Khris Davis homers again. Deja vu in Dodger Stadium.

Garcia for 1 inning only Why not just start Happ instead?

Garcia for 1 inning only Why not just start Happ instead? I don’t get that at all. Garcia looked fine in the 1st and Happ was warming up as if the decision to put him in had already been made. Weird.

An Aaron Boone decision that blows up in his face?
Can't say I'm surprised, or unhappy for that matter.
Let's go Rays, yes?

Weird. This doesn't give Garcia any confidence. I have more faith in Garcia than Happ, and now the team got burned with Zunino HR.

Another thing I don't get is why start Frazier (right) instead of Gardner (left) against Glasnow (right). Glasnow does have reverse splits where he is more effective against lefties, but still. Gardner is a veteran gamer who is built for playoff games. He’s pesky, works good ABs, has speed, I’d want him in the lineup 10 times out of 10 over Frazier.

Padres had the lowest OBP in the major leagues for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
That's almost impossible to believe. But watching them, I believe it.

Buehler's thrown 53 pitches through two innings - - but no runs given up.
