I think it was always easy to get a good director for SS2. The question is, when will they begin pre production and begin shooting?

Maybe they could put SS2 on hold until he is free.

Jason Statham should play.... someone. I haven't read Suicide Squad comics. A British badass with driving and martial arts skills. Any Suicide Squad members like that?

May as well. The first one was so damn bad that the bar is pretty low.
Ritchie is a good action director so at least we'll have decent set-pieces (unlike the first one).

He also seems to be good with ensemble movies. I don't care who directs SS2, as long as they manage to re-write the characters into actual criminal psychos.

Ya you know that the characters weren't well written when the best one is The Joker. He wasn't even that good and he was in the movie for less than 10 minutes.

Now this seems more plausible than Mel Gibson. With Mel, it probably wouldn't have been any fun at all, but Guy Ritchie knows how to make a dark story enjoyable.

It was still a pretty heavy movie.

It was still a pretty heavy movie. well, wouldn't you think that's closer in line to what people expected after the first (SDCC) trailer? granted Richie is a better fit than Gibson.

Mel Gibson should stay far away from comic book movies and get the Passion sequel going. Then that Viking movie with DiCaprio.

He should be the co-director for the next Mad Max film.

Isn't he supposed to be directing that live-action remake of Aladdin? Where will he have the time on his schedule to do a SS sequel in the near future?
