Faith Based www.imdb.com/title/tt10260692/ yet ? When two friends realize all "faith based" films make buckets of cash, they set out on a mission to make one of their own. I can think of two obvious and contrasting ways for this scenario to be treated, but the poster promises comedy.

Do people actually enjoy these types of films? They're so poorly made and written, about the production values of a soap opera. Even if I was the most die hard, devout, snake handling Christian I couldn't imagine legitametly enjoying "God's Not Dead".

"A religious movie doesn't have to be bad..it just doesn't have to be good'! I love the think tank of potential titles, too!

Criticizing religion for its movies would be like criticizing you for your architecture.

Now you are right that that judging religion based on the quality of art it inspires isn't the best argument (especially since there's far better arguments against religion). That's not to say there aren't any good Christian movies (Ten Commandments come to mind) but let's just be honest as to what Christian movies generally are, poorly made schlock designed to make a quick easy buck.

I like many of the older faith-based films, from earlier era of movies, but, not the ones from more recent times. Eg: A Man For All Seasons starring Paul Scofield was excellent. As for God's Not Dead, I can't even get past the title of the movie. One recent faith-based movie that was actually pretty good, was Fireproof, starring Kirk Cameron.

Yeah obviously I'm talking about Christian movies that this movie is making of.

I tend to enjoy some of what might be called faith based movies that Kevin Sorbos is in.
In a way, I particularly like the idea of faith based movies. It shows me, at least, that they have to manufacture made up fictional situations/scenes/encounters where God intervenes and miracles happen or angels appear and interact with folks because the producers know these things simply don't happen in real life. I put them in the same category as...oh...say...Santa Claus movies where there is a realTM Santa Claus who....wait for it...lives at the north pole with elves and flying reindeer(Elf, The Santa Clause, My Santa, and many more too numerous to list), or comedic witch movies/shows (Sabrina, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, etc.) These movies and shows are fun...because we all know there is no real witchcraft nor a real Santa Claus, but lots of people like to entertain themselves imagining what it would be like IF these things did exist. So in the same sense, I think people of religious faith are entertained by faith based movies because they fulfill some inner desire for real TM miracles to occur.
