Sixers would be stupid to move Simmons over Embiid, especially in a Harden deal. I find the whole situation fascinating
When the Sixers were thinking about hiring D'Antoni as coach - I was curious what the team would look like if they played small ball
i.e. - moved Simmons to the '5' and played small ball and surround him with shooters/guards/wings
Ben plus Harden is intriguing. But I also think Joel plus Harden is intriguing.
Is this what you're thinking if they swapped Joel for Harden - you move Ben to the '5' and play small ball or would you roll with starting Horford at the '5' - or are you dealing Horford in another deal?

But you just mix and match slop until the salaries work

The Sixers have 4 top heavy salaries and then almost nothing in salary. You’d need a third team that can take some salaries. |

Yep, Rockets would jump at that. Realistically, any trade would have to center on either Embiid or Simmons. You could pare either one of them with Josh Richardson and make the salaries work. I don’t see that being enough. Something the Sixers can give the Rockets is draft picks. In the next 7 drafts, the Rockets only have 2 1st rounders and 6 2nd rounders. I guess the Soxers could help replenish the Rockets draft picks on top of Embiid/Simmons and Richardson. |

Only do this if this is the last option. Patty is 32 but we need a PG - and JRich won't be here in 2022 anyway
Would rather add JRich as sweetener and the #21 to unload Horford's contract to get a return on a bigger fish
