Dwight Howard signs with the Sixers Interesting risky move
Always wanted to take a chance on him as a backup '5' - even after being considered been one of the biggest cancers in the league
Seemed to be on good behavior last year with the Lakers and seems to be a changed person
Hoping that sticks and he doesn't cause problems in the locker room

Howard thought he had a 1 year $3 mil deal with the Lakers, tweeting he was staying. However, sources within the organization are adamant that a formal offer was never made, maintaining that dialogue was merely a “deal concept.” Howard thought if he agreed to the “deal concept” that it was a done deal, sources said. He was forced to delete his tweet. Lakers management informed Howard’s agent that they had to consult with team ownership and seek approval before making an official offer, sources said. Howard waited for nearly an hour without hearing back, sources said. Communication was strictly between the Lakers front office and Howard’s agent, sources said. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers were being ultra-aggressive in courting the big man led by new head of basketball operations Daryl Morey, who was the general manager of the Houston Rockets when Howard signed there in 2013. All-Star Joel Embiid also began recruiting Howard, sources said. Having not heard from the Lakers, Howard decided to join the Sixers on a one-year, $2.6 million deal, sources said.

So awesome to hear that Embiid recruited Howard
A lot of us here were fearful Nerlens Noel was coming home - there were signs everywhere and a lot of media insiders here predicted it
Much better acquisition. Just hoping he continues to behave - I think he will - Doc Rivers is well respected

John Wall wants out of Washington per Shams
Wow
Huge ugly contract - coming off an ugly injury
I've always liked him despite being a subpar shooter
Looks like the Russ/Wall swap isn't happening
Wonder where he's going....

Wall is pissed that Washington said they are building around Beal. Apparently he feels he is the center of the franchise. He hasn’t played a game since April 9, 2019. He hasn’t played a full season since 2016-17. He is delusional.

Or does he still have more in the tank?
Maybe as he gets old - would he accept a backup role?
I always figured he'd come home cheap on a like a 1 year to finish out his career

He was taking fewer minutes in the bubble. Malachi will probably get high quality minutes balanced with him, while Freddie starts. I'm not even sure they'd trade Kyle in-season, they'd have to be out of the playoff race to do that & that's not happening.
