Guess I'll go into a cryogenic chamber so I can collect my winnings. Captain's log, Stardate 20221. We have departed Earth for the neutral planetoid code-named Babel. Since it is in our sector, the Enterprise has been assigned to transport ambassadors of Philadelphia-based basketball team the 76ers to a vitally important council. The issues of the council are politically complex and highly sensitive, with their host city's fans said to be angry that the franchise's long-running "Process" has yet to culminate in any discernible success. The conference will consider the continued accumulation of assets in the 76ers' continued efforts to win a playoff series. Captain's Log, supplemental: We have encountered a highly volatile life form identifying itself as screamingtreefrogsv38745558769. It has an odd obsession with insisting all Philadelphia players are all time greats while also insisting they aren't winning because they're still obtaining assets. We caught him accessing old video logs of 21st century entertainment. Even the computer had a hard time finding them, that's how irrelevant these so called celebrities were to history. screamingtreefrogs appears to be relatively harmless, though we are prepared to blow him out of the airlock if he continues to compare various crew members to characters from something called WWE.

Sixers hire Dave Joerger as Assistant Coach This is a breathtaking move. Joerger was largely responsible for turning a decrepit Kings franchise around. They were going places. The Kings went from 27-55 to 39-43 under Joerger. All of the sudden Luke Walton became available. The Kings axed Joerger and went with Walton (we all know how that turned out). Many fans in Sac and the NBA were scratching their heads over the move. Joerger was actually considered a head coaching candidate - to get him as an assistant is an absolute steal. Bravo Sixers

Lots of money being bet on the Warriors, and almost 60% on either the Warriors or Durant's Nets. The Golden State Warriors are not, in theory, the top contenders for the 2021 NBA championship. Depending on which sportsbook you consult, their odds at winning a title fall somewhere within the top 10, almost always behind the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. But according to OddsChecker, which compiles betting data across all legal oddsmakers, the Warriors have received more wagers to win next year's NBA Finals than any other team — and it's not all that close. OddsChecker says roughly 37% of wagers have come in on the Warriors, who are expected to field a healthy lineup again and have some roster flexibility with their pending No. 2 overall pick in November's NBA Draft. The second-most wagers (22%) are actually directed at the Brooklyn Nets; with Kevin Durant back, they'll have an easier path to a potential Finals matchup coming out of the Eastern Conference. At 20% are the defending champion Lakers — sportsbooks have assigned LeBron James and Co. the best odds (+400) at winning it all next season, but bettors apparently aren't enthralled by those numbers. The Milwaukee Bucks, who had the best record in the NBA in 2019-20 but fell apart in the playoffs, are getting around 5% of wagers on the 2021 championship. The rest of the league combines for 16% of wagers. www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/Early-money-at-sportsbooks-is-going-to-the-15653051.php?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=socialflow&fbclid=IwAR1QZsb6TOyDx1kLFnCJuV8LVhX8n7aoSLTuUnObNUowv2Ki5X7xJj2P-Pc

Unfortunately - I think it has like a 2% chance of happening - I think the Nets implode (although I can't wait to watch them)
I'm really intrigued with what they do with that #2 pic. Rumors all over the place they're going to package it with another player (Wiggins) to try to get a position of need in.
They need a '5' to compete with the Lakers. I'd love to ditch Horford and the #21 pick for Wiggins.
Would be a win/win for both parties.

His comeback was impressive with the Blazers
Rumors swirling there may be a Knicks reunion in the cards
Looks like he's been taking care of himself as he's been getting older - slimmed down a lot -

Lot's of people are stating it's way too early and a more realistic date would be Martin Luther King Jr. Day

It would be a much shorter offseason, but then again they did just have four months off.
