Did we just beat the top team in the NBA from the 'superior' Western Conference? I think we just did

This is what I mean when I state Jo-Jo can do anything -
Anything -
This is against the 'Best Team' in the NBA last night -
Ridiculous 3 pointer to send the game to OT? Sure why not -
Tremendous rim defender? Yep -
Bully 'The Best Defender' in the league down low? No problem -

Donovan Mitchell is entering Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving territory for me
Look at the behavior by this selfish primadonna baby throwing a temper tantrum - appalling sickening embarrassing display -

The best move he had was front rimming that dunk so badly the ref felt bad for him and called a phantom foul at a pivotal moment late in OT. But seriously, great game. The league is in trouble if he keeps this going in the playoffs.

Are you kidding me!
Around the 5-7 second mark of this clip - Gobert puts his left forearm into Jo-Jo's lower back as he's going up!
That is a very dangerous play - similar to what LeBron did to Jo-Jo a few weeks ago

Thanks for posting the clip. I don't know what's more pathetic, the phantom call or Embiid encouraging the refs to T Mitchell up-- and the officials listening to him.

Honestly the only thing I don't like about that clip is the flop by Embiid. I don't mind a little trash talk, I just wish he'd back it up more often.

Wilbon is nuts. He thinks Rockets fans will cheer Harden, or 50-50 boos at worst. Wow... now I know why Texas abandoned COVID-19 restrictions... to boo a guy. OK, I was wrong. I had missed the official intro with the arena announcer and tribute video. Mostly cheers, but not many fans had arrived yet. Warriors-Blazers finish sucked. So many guys on the Warriors miss easy layups and open shots.

I've noticed one thing about the Warriors that they get nervous when the games are close. Green again did his wild drive to the basket to no avail. Well, he does drive a few times a game, and they're not ready for it. But Dame sniffed it out to get the charge.

Curry and Green not flying to Phoenix for tonight's game. That's an L. Phoenix was the #2 seed in the West last I checked. When's the last time THAT happened? Gotta be the Steve Nash days.....

I have to say...I've changed my mind about the NBA. It's a different style of play, but it's still an exciting game. The game features better ball movement than I give it credit for, and the overreliance on the three still requires more effort and energy by either side than the old days of dumping the ball down low to the big guy.
I've already said the players today are as talented as they've ever been, so my stance hasn't changed there. Two things that make the game difficult to watch, and it's not the game's fault. One is the putrid refereeing. It's at a level slightly above the WWE. The other, particularly on ESPN, are the announcers who clearly have a formula given to them by the network or the league on how to do their jobs. There's a mandate that states everything Luka or Giannis does is the greatest thing in the history of basketball. I saw Doncic make a crosscourt pass to a shooter on the perimeter the other night and the announcer acted as if Luka just reinvented the game. He found the open man in a half court set, let's not go crazy here. I think I'd find more of these guys likeable if the network and league weren't trying to force me to like them.
Probably on a related note, the C's have been playing better since I ranted about how terrible they were the other day. I still don't see them as a contender, and I still want to trade Walker, but at the very least I feel like the effort has been there of late. And I'd rather be the guy bitching about an underachieving team until they turn it around instead of the guy who starts a 'Sixers/Eagles/Phillies/Flyers championship' thread two months before every season, only to edit the title to 'Sixers/Eagles/Phils/Flyers rebuilding' thread two months later.
So yeah, I'm back in on the NBA. That doesn't mean I'd watch the Finals if my team isn't there, but that's been true for the last 20 years. Hell, the Super Bowl is probably the only American sports championship I'd watch regardless of who's playing-- and even then I don't always watch it.

Per NBCSports -
'According to TrueHoop's Tom Haberstroh, execs around the league expect the Sixers to add veteran swingman P.J. Tucker either in the buyout market or in a trade for a 2nd Round Pick'
It's Over.
