I bet they'll do something similar to the Netflix Lost in Space reboot and go for grim and humorless, trying to distance themselves from the campiness of the 70s TV show. I sort of understand that, but there's something to be said for a space opera just being fun.

Cool. I hope they don't go all PC on us and ignore the eye candy factor when casting Col. Wilma Deering - she's the only thing I remember (and very fondly) from the TV show!

I sort of understand that, but there's something to be said for a space opera just being fun. I’d kind of hope that they go the route as Valerien. Not with casting, that was bad. But to its credit, the film did have a sense of fun and levity that’s gone from a lot of science fiction movies these days.
