Robert Stevenson was from Buxton in England. Legendary director Frank Lloyd was from Glasgow, Scotland. These two I knew! As I understand it, renowned b-movie stylist Roy William Neill was born to a seafarer. Thing is, he was literally born at sea, birthed aboard a ship off the coast of Ireland that his father was captaining, so in later years a dispute broke out over which country could lay greatest claim to him!
