There seems to be a number of recent threads related to slasher movies, so I figured, why not ask this?

Friday the 13th series is good entertainment at least up to part 8.
Halloween series lost it after part 4, others listed even sooner.
TCM is hardly a slasher series.

I love Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street...as seen in my name/avatar.
But if I had to pick one I will go with Friday the 13th

Halloween in the lead is kinda shocking. There's some good flicks in there, but as an overall franchise, it's all fucked up. There's more timelines than Star Trek.
I'd have to go Nightmare. Even the worst ones have some creative visuals and ideas. And there's a narrative consistency I appreciate, at least up until the 6th film.

The first "Halloween" is one of my favorite movies. And I love the third one with Tom Atkins, but that one doesn't count. The second one is pretty enjoyable, but the 4th and 5th ones are lame. So I go with Friday the 13th franchise.

Halloween. There's only 3 or 4 good films in the franchise, but it's more than the others have.

I love the movie Halloween, but the franchise sucks. My favorite franchise of those is Scream, followed closely by F13.
