Made-for-tv but cinema-quality. Still holds up pretty well after all these years.

The ‘79 version right? I didn’t find it that scary. 4/10.

Overall, quite enjoyable. I didn't like the wraparound story at all and really wish that it would have been left out. Some great atmosphere and memorable scenes, especially the boy vampires' night visits. Lovely grainy 70s cinematography. Still, I feel that this could have been tightened quite a bit. I've never seen the movie cut that was distributed theatrically in some European countries, maybe it fixes this problem, or maybe it really is too short and hasty, which is what I've heard. Also the ending, when they go into the house, is a real letdown.
6/10, much closer to 7 than 5.
I tried to like the 2004 series too but it was awful, gave up after 40 minutes + some chapter skipping. 1/10

The kids at the window and Barlow--damn scary. James Mason having a good time.
"You'll enjoy Mr Barlow-and he'll enjoy you."

10/10. Didn't find any fault with it. I didn't find any fault with it either. I suppose I should raise it to 9/10. I reserve 10/10 for super favorites.

I like how David Soul gets scared when Mrs Glick starts moving under the sheet.
"Bill! Bill!"
