This is also based off an August Wilson play? I still need to watch Fences.

This looks fantastic. Wow, Denzel Washington came around full circle with Chadwick Boseman. He is the producer for this movie and years ago, he paid for Chadwick to study in England.

I liked this more than Fences (which I didn't hate). Just enjoyed the self-contained aspect of the story. Boseman, Domingo, and Davis were phenomenal.

Definitely an actor's showcase. What a performance to go out on for Boseman, and Viola is great as usual. The only thing I didn't really like was the ending, which felt like the "we need a big dramatic event to close on for the sake of it" kind of playwrighting.

Boseman was dynamic, Davis good if rather one-note, the supporting performance were solid but I do wonder what the point is - no effort at all was made to open out the play, even Fences was more cinematic.
