Me thinks this movie tries way too hard to be cool. It can become just annoying at times. I didn’t outright hate it, though. I appreciated the movie’s brutality especially when it came to the Black Mask and Victor Zsasz characters. Know those fight scenes in movies where it’s one against many but each bad guy takes their turn instead or attacking at once? Yeah, we get that here when about half a dozen inmates get taken down by Harley Quinn.
Probably a **/****

I liked it but I enjoyed Suicide Squad a bit more. It does have a better villain. McGregor was a lot of fun as Black Mask.

I had fun with it. A bit too Deadpool, but I can get passed that with the fun and colourful style. The actors did a good job too.

I do hate it.
It has a thin story, bad dialogue, ugly cinematography and is filled with completely unlikable and annoying characters. Harley Quinn as played by Margot Robbie is better kept as a supporting character, because she really gets on my nerves after a while. Her narration is cringe-inducing.
The best thing about the movie is Ewan McGregor's hammy performance and even then he can only elevate the generic writing of his character to an extent.
None of the action scenes or interactions between characters is entertaining or interesting. The movie is vapid.

Didn't care much for it. They tried too hard to make it like Deadpool, especially the flaccid self-aware narration. Harley is her own, perfectly okay character.

Do you like TAS Harley Quinn more than Margot Robbie's version? I do. Unlike Margot Robbie's version, TAS version is immensely watchable and even likable sometimes. The girl power episode with her and Poison Ivy is good stuff.

Another big problem I have with Birds of Prey is that it doesn't at all feel or look like it takes place in Gotham City.

She’s been depicted as DC’s answer to Deadpool at least since the New 52 began, and prior to that, her defining trait was being the Joker’s bubbly sidekick/trophy wife. I don’t think she ever had anything going for her as a character. She comes across more as fetish fuel than an actual character.
