A low-profile film I had not heard of until I recently started searching for films on witchcraft that I had not previously seen.
Mildly entertaining through the first two-thirds, where it's never quite clear whether there is/are any actual witches or just people who have foolishly convinced themselves that there are witches. The inspiration for the original title ("Night of the Witches") only becomes apparent in the last 5 minutes of the film.
The filmmakers almost shocked me into thinking that they would end the film in a way that would have been extremely unusual for a 1962 film (although not necessarily entirely unexpected had it been made by Hitchcock, post-Psycho). But in the end, they tidied everything up so that those pre-slasher era audiences could all go home feeling all was still right with the world.
6/10
edit: "The inspiration for the original title ("Night of the Eagle") only becomes apparent in the last 5 minutes of the film."

I dunno, I was looking forward to this one (Everson recommended it, at least in part) and ended up finding it pretty dull despite a promising premise.

A 6/10 for me is the lowest rating at which I would recommend seeing a film or tv show. Anything less than that I would skip. I would not suggest anyone go out of their way to see a 6/10 though.
