The ratings are an All-Time Record Low - a low for the history of the game.
What do you attribute this too?
Covid? No fans in attendance make for a dull product to watch on TV? No interest due to the carnival like season?

For all the people that complain about cheating and sports perhaps being fixed at times. This is a reason why the fix is in at certain times over the years - and needs to be done more often.
To save the sport.
MLB should have been in cahoots with the umps to fix this so the 'Stros or Yanks made the World Series - especially this year.
Everybody has lost a ton of money - and the icing on the cake is the Rays in the World Series - whom nobody wants to see. |

Note -
This is another reason why I am completely against expansion.
So we don't have 'cute' lil teams like the Tampa Bays, Memphis', Nashvilles, Columbus, Ohios - etc. watering down our products and getting themselves into a position to compete for a title when nobody cares about them

Dude, ratings were also down for the NBA Finals by a lot. It isn’t because of the Rays being in the World Series, it’s because people just don’t give a shit this year.

Nobody wanted to see the Heat.
Vanilla dull team.
Would have been a different story if we had a Superstar to go against LeBron

I didn't watch one game.
We have a high profile team in the Dodgers in this - I haven't watched one game - because we have a dud going against them.
There's no side story, drama or intrigue.

They like the big names.
It's just like the Dodgers - I'm willing to bet the casual MLB fan can name at least 1 Dodger - I'm not so sure they can name a Ray.
