teleadm"With his special facial features he was immediately recognizable as silent Igor in House of Wax 1953, early in his career." As a kid I had a collection of character actors with "special facial features" and Charles Bushinsky was high on that list. Always got a kick out of him turning up on some tv western or other. House of Wax as where I first discovered him. Scared me senseless when that wax head on the shelf moved .... in 3D too ! His was not a classically beautiful look but... WOW! I never cared for the assorted mustashes though.

two of his most unusual roles: as teenager susan george's husband in LOLA (1970). i picked up an old video cd of the film when i was a bored young man living alone in bombay. it is a charming comedic film. another one was in sean penn's THE INDIAN RUNNER (1991) as a quite and depressed elderly man. It might not have been one his biggest role, but for the first time in a long while, Bronson "who actually shaved of his famous moustache for the part" gets to play a real human, instead of just another vigilante/Paul Kersey killing machine clone, and for me the most memorable part is when we see an old and tired Charles Bronson watching his two little sons on a movie projector with a huge smile on his face, alone down in his basement, along with the beautiful music of Coming Back To Me by Jefferson Airplane. Such a tender, little scene, full of emotion.
