Eraserhead was famously inspired by Pittsburgh (apparently) 
David Lynch was influenced by the art of Andy Warhol who was from Pittsburgh.

Slap Shot 1977, though it's very much a sport movie it also depicts one of those towns that grew up around a giant steel mill, that is soon going to close it's business, and what will happen with their only joy, the local Ice-Hockey team. 
Paul Newman was from Shaker Heights, Ohio. He joined Cleveland Indians Leon Wagner, Chuck Hinton and Rocky Colavito for some spring training in 1966. By the looks of his jacket, the Cleveland wind was still piercing.

Flash Dance! Working class Philadelphia reaching for the stars. Good one, but I think it was set in Pittsburgh. Yes. Tomboy dancer Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) works as a welder.
