WHAT THE FUCK??? I get it. Tv is dying, but to take the holiday specials everyone knows and loves was just WRONG!!! This better not happen with the Ralph Baskin movies or the Grinch!!!!

Let me guess; they're too offensive somehow.

Let me guess; they're too offensive somehow. I’d hope that isn’t the case. I really think it’s just more to do with that I think Apple bought the rights to Peanuts and thought they could get more subscribers by putting the Holiday specials on their service. From what I understand this is only pissing people off and it’s making less people want to subscribe to Apple TV.

Shitty thing to do. Apple is offering them for free right around Halloween and Christmas but it's more fun to watch them on TV. Man, that was one one of the greatest things about the Christmas season. You had to look at the TV Guide and mark when the great specials came on so you didn't forget. Christmas wasn't Christmas if you didn't see Charlie Brown, Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch. All of kids dancing with the Peanuts gang when Schroeder played. Making fun of my brother because he was scared of the Abdominal Snowman, even though he knew he was just "The Bumble" ("and Bumble's bounce!").

Let's face it--the days of watching stuff on network tv are done. The spirit went out when the stuff became easy to access year round and 300 channel universes.
Sometimes having less control of content access has some benefits in encouraging enthusiasm.

Darn it! How dare they make Catman's annual tradition of avoiding all things Peanuts so easy!

Darn it! How dare they make Catman's annual tradition of avoiding all things Peanuts so easy! Not a fan of Peanuts?

I used to be a major Peanuts fan but the universal bullying of Charlie Brown and Lucy's behavior in particular finally got to me one year and I have not watched the specials since then.
I gave away my entire collection of Peanuts books !
I did keep the Snoopy soap dish !

Time for me to buy the Bluray or DVD of that recent theatrical movie with the CGI animation that didn't ruin the look of the whole Peanuts gang.

Another tradition goes down the drain. I'm glad I have most of the specials on DVD (bought them a long time ago). I always watched them on CBS back in the day though.

Grab the DVDs this year, they may not be around again? Besides, those things are everywhere - grocery stores, drug stores, etc.
