I do. If you don’t, why not? From calling trees rascals and mistakes happy accidents, to squirrels in his shirt pockets, to his beautiful soothing voice, to his painting and marketing talent...what’s not to love?
This past weekend PBS had a Bob Ross marathon and even though I was in and out I had it on, just to catch the sound of his voice to to see a mountain being created.

I always wondered if he was that happy in real life. He was. But he said anyone could paint like that. Not me. bought all the stuff, did everything he did and it look like I ran it through a woodchipper. He was fun to watch.

This thread reminded me of this hilarious trailer for Deadpool 2:

If I'm ever lucky enough to get to Heaven, one of the many things I'd like to do is smoke a big fat joint with Bob Ross, and watch him paint a painting right after.
Loved watching his show.

“Let’s give this tree a little friend. Everyone needs a friend. Even a little tree.”
“This one looks a little crooked. That’s okay, it just makes him stand out. We like things being unique. If I looked like everyone else, you wouldn’t remember me.”
“We don’t make mistakes, just happy accidents.”
What a legend.

One of our TV's is antennae and I can catch reruns of his show, its so relaxing to watch him and his voice is so soothing. He makes painting look so easy. He may be gone but hopefully his shows will be in reruns for several more years.

He was like Mr. Rogers with a paintbrush.
Not sure I'd hang his work up in my home, but I don't think that was the point. Ross wanted to make the creative process accessible to as many as possible and in a soothing and upbeat way. Like Fred Rogers, Bob was the butt of teasing amongst my generation when we were know-it-all teens, but now in my dotage, both men's work looks better and better: oases of peace in a turbulent world, pleasant places to visit and call home for a while.
His shows have become a fixture on our PBS home-show outlet (sometimes they even run a BR marathon), and along with This Old House and The Woodwright's Shop, they're a program I always stay with when I catch it during a channel spin.

He's very soothing. I understand why people enjoy his show. I watched a bit on hulu recently. I had seen him when i was a kid but as a kid you don't want someone calmly painting a mountain scene...you want violence!!
