Honestly I never got the hate for his Hulk movie. I honestly really liked it. I know people wanted more action out of his first big screen movie, but honestly I was ok with a slower moving movie and the action towards the end. I also really liked the way his Hulk looked. It looked like the one from the comic.
I don’t think Norton or Ruffalo found the balance between Hulk and Banner like Bana did. I think Bana would have been a much better Hulk in the MCU.
Anyone else agree or am I just crazy?

I suppose his design isn’t too bad, but if they desaturate him a bit and give him some final touches for modern day CGI, then yes.
I also don’t mind Bana as Banner either, though Ruffalo fit the part pitch perfectly.

Norton was ok, but I felt like they had no faith in a stand alone Hulk movie so they needed a big name actor to carry it and I felt maybe Norton brought the movie down some cause of it. Ruffalo I thought was terrible. Part of it may have been because they wanted someone SO FAR removed from Norton’s Hulk and it really took me out of his performance of The Hulk because I had to keep telling myself it was supposed to be Norton’s Hulk. It’s not a new Hulk. IT IS THE SAME ONE NORTON PLAYED!!! Norton’s Banner if I’m correct really struggled trying to control himself from turning into the Hulk. I didn’t see that in Ruffalo’s Hulk. Was he able to control it at some point between The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers?

Norton isn’t bad either, but IMO he feels the least like Bruce Banner. It is pretty jarring that they feel so different in spite of being technically the same character in the same universe, but I thought they changed him for the better.

Ruffalo is too boring. Norton was too happy (I guess he was closest to the comic book version but Bixby casts a long shadow). Bana was boring too--he was also way too enormous as the Hulk--the Avengers could fit inside his pants and use it as a command tent.

Was his supposed to be based on the Tv show?

I feel like they should have given his own movie first. Then I could judge him based on that. In the end I think it was stupid to get rid of Norton, but I do understand why. Didn’t he want more screen time in The Avengers?

No one could get his ass kicked like Bixby--but he isn't really like the comic book Banner. He is my favorite though.
Norton looks more like the comic book version in the face (at least the Herb Trimpe era) but his personality is wrong. He's too heroic and doesn't seem miserable or upset.
I think Ruffalo is supposed to be more like Bixby but he is too mild. It's like he has to be in the shadows because Tony Stark is the genius inventor.

No, even if I don't hate the movie that much. He was kind of bland.

I think Ruffalo was the best Banner choice for the MCU Avengers ensemble. He's neither over or underwhelming, & has chemistry with just about everyone.

It was the better Hulk movie.
He may not have matched what MCU was going for though. I'm fine with the current guy.

Ang Lee's Hulk was probably the most boring super hero movie I've ever seen, so no.

Meh. I don't think the movie itself is too bad, but I found Bana so bland in that role. I thought Bill Bixby, Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo were all far better.

General Ross was a pain in the ass and Jennifer Connelly while beautiful was dreadful. Josh Lucas stole the movie the only best thing about the movie. I could've done without Nick Nolte, anyone could do without Nick Nolte. I don't think it was the better Hulk movie. Just average.

I feel like MCU wanted someone in the role of each character that could match RDJ hence why they got Norton as Hulk. Evans was a strange choice at first since he had really not been known for much except Not Another Teen Movie, but he did a great job in the end.
