Came back from his 2019 slump to hit .316 with 10 homers for his best season since leaving the Yankees and thought we wouldn't notice?

Kolten Wong to the Mets? Blast you! Cano's suspension actually has some pretty interesting, positive implications. For one, he forfeits his entire salary so that's an extra $24m they can spend without tipping the luxury tax threshold. Two, it opens the door for them to outright cut him and eat the last 2 years, which is a possibility. Most important, this could allow them to really explore trading for Lindor or bringing in DJ LeMahieu (although the latter is a real longshot). If things stand where they are, it means that McNeil (2B), DJ Davis (3B) and each of Conforto, Brandon Nimmo and Dom Smith can play every day without having to endure that round robin bullshit they did throughout this year.

Robinson Cano apparently is suspended for 2021 after a failed drug test. These are the players who will be the juicers now. Not batters that want to jump from 25 to 55 homers a season. Players on the downside of their careers and want a few more years. This probably ends his career. He had borderline HOF numbers 2500+ hits, 330+ HRs, lifetime .300 average, six top 10 MVP votes. That went down the tubes in 2018, no juicer now will ever get into Cooperstown. Now he will just be known for steroids and a dopey trade.
Maybe the Mets spiked his food with steroids. I bet you could hear the cheers all through Queens when the news came out.

Origin
In the early days of baseball, Hot Stove Season referred to an actual baseball season: Hot Stove Leagues, in which MLB players would stay in shape by playing baseball in their hometowns while staying warm with actual hot stoves.
The term soon expanded to become a kind of predecessor to the water cooler -- on a cold day, fans would gather around the hot stove to discuss their favorite team.

Charlie Morton to the Bravos...i thought he was going to announce his retierment... The Braves love these 1-year deals and players love signing them with Atlanta. Donaldson and Ozuna both worked out perfectly, let's see if they make it a trifecta. Morton was a bit up and down this year but his velocity is still good and he could be a great middle of the rotation guy for the Bravos. Do they ever make a bad move?

We're not really gonna miss it, more for its memories - Jays, Argos, TFC, Wrestlemanias. As it is, it's become rather charmless unless more than 40,000 in the place. 1989 until about 2030 at the latest, it did the job.
