anyone a Costco fan? My brother loves Costco. I don't. I fine the quantities too large and the shopping experience unpleasant. Went today. Got 3 lb of organic bananas, a 3 lb container of peeled garlic cloves (I will use all or almost all), a 1 lb container of aged 24 months parmigiano reggiano shredded cheese, and a rotisserie chicken. Wasn't crowded. Went right to the self-check. perfect nj! I wouldn't even know those items existed. I'd be walking around like I was in outer space. The few times I have gone,( two friends have taken me, and when the Costco opened they allowed everyone to shop free for a month or so without membership) I was overwhelmed. I wouldn't find those few items I wanted. but I would find the free samples. lol I liked that part!

Like: Costco Trader Joe's Aldi Mostly like: H-E-B Whole Foods Okay: Shop-Rite Stop-and Shop King's Wegman's Safeway Sprouts Natural Grocer Don't like: Randall's Albertsons Wal-Mart Target Sam's Club Not sure I've ever been in a Kroger's or BJ's Never been in a Publix Just Curious, How can you like Safeway but not like Albertsons and randall's? They're all the same store now. I went inside an Acme (Also an Albertsons company) last month and I felt like I was shopping at a Vons (Safeway) in california. or are you referring to before the merge of Albertsons and Safeway in 2015?

Haven't been in Albertsons or Safeway in quite a long time, so pre-merger. I use my Safeway card at Randall's here, but it's not at all like the Safeways I remember from CA. Their prices and selection suck. I've heard their meat is better than H-E-B, which isn't saying much, but I've yet to test that. They are like Target to me. I often go in for a while and end up leaving with nothing.

That makes more sense Since the merge, all the stores carry the safeway generics since the generics in Albertsons were previously owned by their former parent company, SuperValu. I went into an ACME store in Doylestown, PA looking for a a couple of Ice Cream and Coffee Creamer flavors that were Safeway Generic brands and I couldn't find them yet my friend said she just picked them up at a safeway in redmond, wa.

Catman likes the Hy-Vee. Good selection, good prices, great gas card rewards. Catman does not like the Fareway. Lousy selection (which they are somehow proud of), so-so prices, no gas card. And they have the worst entry way which they usually clog with so many 'specials' it can be impossible to enter the store behind someone who has to carefully inspect all the products. I got a HyVee welcome to the neighborhood ad in my mail the other day and yet I donβt live in the Midwest! π§

Ralphs is pretty good.
Vons has way too long lines and wierdos in the aisles.
Try to get my fruits and veggies at the farmers market.
