Shot for television but with the quality of a feature film, the season opener is pretty satisfying. Still really dig the western sci-if aesthetic. Timothy Olyphant also makes for a solid guest appearance sporting none other than Boba Fett’s armor. At 54 minutes, it’s the longest episode yet. The plot involves Tusken Raiders and the remaining inhabitants of a mining town banding together to take a down a Krayt dragon. When the big action scene gets rolling, director/writer Jon Favreau opens up the frame from 2.40:1 to 1.78:1 and it looks pretty darn good. Another thing I dig about the series is seeing something new to the Star Wars universe. In this episode, it’s something as simple as two Gamorreans duking it out in a boxing ring. The episode concludes with a teaser for a returning character who probably wants his armor back.
