Influential filmmaker Fernando Birri has died aged 92. Birri was an acknowledged pioneer of modern Latin American cinema who made short subject films, documentaries and experimental features. I've not seen any of his films.
Producer Manolo Bolognini has died aged 92. Bolognini produced motion pictures composed by many great Italian directors. His brother was filmmaker Mauro Bolognini.
Actor Stewart Moss has died aged 79. Moss was born on November 27th, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He starred in drive-in horror favourite 'The Bat People' (1974). He also worked as a staff director for Hugh Hefner's 'Playboy' organisation.

Rosie Marie (Baby Rose Marie) passed away December 28, 2017 at the age of 94 at her home in Van Nuys, California. Her career spanned seven decades from 1929 to 2013. Known primarily today for her role on The Dick Van Dyke Show, she was a child star who sang and danced and acted with the likes of W.C. Fields in International House. Here she is singing in "Don't Be Like That" in 1929: Celebrities pay tribute to her here: Rose MarieRest in peace, Rose Marie. Thanks for the memories.

WDRB.comLOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville native Sue Grafton, who wrote a prolific and best-selling series of alphabetically titled mystery novels, has died in California, according to Steve Bass, a family friend. She was 77. Bass, who also led last year's effort to honor Grafton with a downtown Louisville banner, said Grafton died Thursday night in Santa Barbara, Calif. A graduate of Atherton High School and the University of Louisville, Grafton worked as a screenwriter before writing the first of her popular Kinsey Millhone novels, “A is for Alibi,” in 1982. She published her most recent book in the series, “Y is for Yesterday,” earlier this year. Grafton's daughter Jamie posted on Facebook on Friday that her mother died Thursday surrounded by family after a two-year battle with cancer. Jamie had tough news for fans of her mother's books. "Many of you also know that she was adamant that her books would never be turned into movies or TV shows, and in that same vein, she would never allow a ghost writer to write in her name. Because of all of those things, and out of the deep abiding love and respect for our dear sweet Sue, as far as we in the family are concerned, the alphabet now ends at Y."
