Death notice The IMDb Message Boards passed away Sunday night, February 19, 2017. The forum had learned of its terminal condition a few weeks earlier. The IMDb MB had enjoyed a mostly well-behaved childhood, but became far more difficult to handle around 20o7 after being introduced to video games and the subgroup that plays them. A later interest in political matters would unfortunately develop into a pathological obsession, ultimately contributing to its premature demise. The forum is survived by thousands of devoted users. The IMDb MB asked that it be remembered as a place where movie lovers were able to exchange information and ideas, and that memorials in its name NOT be posted on Facebook or Twitter.

Rumors abound. Suicide? Mercy killing? Execution-style murder? Depends upon who's being asked, and possible motives remain equally murky.

He was posted in Jabalpur and then Dhaka, Chittagong and Singapore for around four years. He came back and continued directing movies. When he started off in films, most directors were making social dramas and he was very keen on directing films with comedy as the dominant theme. Even now, he was working on a Tamil film script and wanted to make a movie in two months."

'Pretty' Kitty Courbois has passed away aged 79. Courbois became a popular performer in Dutch cinema under the guidance of director Frans Weisz with whom she worked many times in theatre and film. When Paul Verhoeven left for Hollywood, Courbois joined up with him to make the grisly medieval fantasy 'Flesh & Blood' (1985), having already appeared in his dirt bike drama 'Spetters' (1980). She also worked with political filmmaker Wim Verstappen, French-born mystery-maker George Sluizer and the indefatigable Belgian Hugo Claus, confirming her position as one of the leading lights of European cinema. She will be missed.

The filmmaker Andras Kovacs has died at the age of 91. Kovacs was born in Romania but became a major force within the Hungarian film industry. I've not seen any of his films but would like to. His landmark picture 'Cold Days' (1966) is considered one of the greatest films in Hungarian cinema.
Palma Gyimesi has also died at the age of 94. Gyimesi's acting career spanned many decades and took in all manner of character roles in theatre, film and television, including a part in 'The Corporal And Others' (1965), another film I've not seen that's regarded as one of the greatest films in Hungarian cinema. At the beginning of her career, Gyimesi forged a strong association with the filmmakers Felix Mariassy and Laszlo Nadasy.
Tsunehiko Watase has died aged 72. Watase appeared in many films directed by Japanese crime specialist Kinji Fukasaku as well as Shinji Somai's cult yakuza satire 'Sailor Suit And Machine Gun' (1981).
Camera operator Bill Swearingen has died aged 79. He enjoyed a fine career in television but also lent his talents to the disaster classic 'Earthquake' (1974) and the high school musical 'Grease' (1978).
Artist Henri Cueco has died aged 87. Jean Becker's film 'Conversations With My Gardener' (2007), with Daniel Auteuil as the painter, is based on a novel written by Cueco. He also made some uncredited contributions to French cinema and worked on radio.
