Two brazen dives within 20 seconds of each other just there with Son and, particularly, Kane, going down in shamelessly cheating fashion.

I would also like to see a straight red for diving in the box.

We all know every team has a diver on any given day but when you see it happening so brazenly without a caution it's bollix. Spurs'll win this now but at those two back-t-back dives you're thinking come on Brighton even though you couldn't care less before the game.

And unless my eyes deceived me the ref blew up before the minimum 6 minutes added time, just as Bissouma was gonna feed one into the box. The clock said +05:50 as he blew up. It's no wonder he wanted to do an early runner after a performance like that. What a rotter.

Yeah, f***ing maddening. If it was Werner and Pulisic, same thing in my book. No proper fan or neutral spectator wants this sh*t.

Many ways to dive, and Kane knows them all.

An old schoolyard defense. "But someone else did it too!" This is what children argue.

With Deli Alli banished forever, the Dive Race is as usual a two-runner event today. Kane comes in as favourite on the strengths of his varied repertoire. Will it be a high ball situation and a backwards shove into a defender then going down under the defender or his simple but effective over-we-go bended-knees technique? His methods are many and we could see the entire back catalogue today. Son is yet to master more than one technique and prefers instead the straight forward IKEA flat-pack throw-down method.

'42 Son half-hearted forward tumble outside the area under no pressure. Nothing awarded. '43 Kane hacked outside the area, goes down with valid reason whilst maintaining theatrics. Free-kick and booking awarded.

WBA/SPURS SECOND HALF DIVE WATCH
Nothing doing except for Lo Celso trying to break out of the paddock. He'll be in the next race, that's for sure.
FINAL SON 2 KANE 1½

Kane's desperate attempts for a penalty in the closing minute of today's game v Wolves. Even Martin Tyler had a pop.

I don't think that one of Kane's a great example. He's accentuating contact, but they're body on body. You seriously want that sent to VAR?
I'm all for clamping down on guys who aren't touched and writhe around on the ground in agony as if they've been chop blocked, but a guy putting a little mayo on light contact not so much.

The ball got more of him than any contact by the player. Something as blatant as that doesn't need to be 'sent to VAR'. The ref should have dealt with him - and his 'mayo'. Silva 'accentuated contact' in the first half and drew no caution. It isn't just your team Spurs.

Views on VAR last night?
Another awful performance by Liverpool but surely not a penalty.
Not a dive as such but if the ref doesn't even want to look at the monitor and watch all the angles before deciding, then what is the point in having it at all...

Not a dive as such but if the ref doesn't even want to look at the monitor and watch all the angles before deciding, then what is the point in having it at all... I was told repeatedly after the Luiz v Wolves incident (and Peter Walton said this on BT sports) that intent doesn't matter and if a defender touches a striker and causes him to go down in the box its a peno. If that's the case then the ref was right yesterday. Personally I don't agree at all and to me that was never a peno.
