You know how in horror movies people arrive at a house, they slowly start to distrust the people around them, and eventually one of them says "Enough! Let's leave this house!"? In IL LEGAME (THE BINDING), this all happens in the first 30 minutes (in universe, it's only a couple of days). Despite that rushed pacing, the constant jump scares and the lack of original ideas (there's even a character who pulls hair out of their mouth exactly like in THE RING), I was still invested thanks to the likable characters, to Luca Santagostino's cinematography, and to Mía Maestro, Riccardo Scamarcio and Giulia Patrignani's performances. Unfortunately, my interest faded away during the boring final 30 minutes. There's a moment where a certain character gets stabbed by a pair of scissors. Rather than pain, their reaction comes off as "What's this? Aw, man!" 3/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
